Tennis Carnival for Dove House Hospice

On Sunday 6th July, we are running a “tennis carnival” to raise funds for Dove House Hospice.

The carnival is being run by club member Judy Copeland in memory of her brother Mark, and you can read a message from Judy below:

Hi Everyone,

On Sunday 6th July I am holding a “Tennis Carnival ” at Market Weighton Tennis Club between 1pm and 4pm. All proceeds from the afternoon will go to Dove House Hospice in Hull.

The reason I am doing this is because on the 30th December 2024 I lost my brother Mark. He had been battling cancer for the past 3 and a half years.

His final days were spent under the loving care of Dove House Hospice. I am so full of admiration and gratitude, as are my whole family, to Dove House for all they did for Mark and for all of us too.

Their dedication is second to none. So when I heard that the hospice relied heavily on donations, I felt that I wanted to give something back.

Hence, the “Tennis Carnival Afternoon “

It is hopefully going to be a fun afternoon for everyone, adults and children taking part in a number of tennis activities and games. Suitable for all ages!

Entry is £5 per person. There will be a raffle and bun sale too.

Over the coming weeks there will be sign up sheets around the club for you to let us know if you’re coming. Alternatively you can contact myself or Tom.

There will be a variety of tennis (and non-tennis) games to play, as well as a bun sale and a raffle. The games will be suitable for all ages and abilities, so there will be something for all the family to do!

Our team of coaches and volunteers will be there to make the day as fun as possible.
