We are a small and friendly club, located in a secluded area on Holme Road, Market Weighton. We have six tennis courts- three all weather hard courts available for use year-round, and three of the best grass courts in East Yorkshire, perfect during the summer months!
Established in 1921, we have a long history and our Holme Road base has seen many changes over the the years. In recent years, the club has seen the resurfacing of the hardcourts, the installation of new perimeter and security fencing, ensuring the safety of all those using our fantastic facilities.
Our new clubhouse was completed in April 2022, this facility provides a great area for members and visitors to socialise, watch the tennis and also enables tennis camps to be run whatever the weather.
Our primary aim is to provide excellent tennis facilities for our members and visitors. We welcome anybody who wants to pick up a racket, give tennis a go and most importantly enjoy themselves.

Welcome to Market Weighton Lawn Tennis Club established in 1921 in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds.
In 2022 we opened our brand new clubhouse, which is located on Holme Road where we are extremely proud to offer 3 of the best grass courts in the area open from April to September, and 3 hard courts open all year round.
Our coaching programme via Dave Thompson of dt-tenniscoaching.co.uk has something for everyone from juniors of all ages to adult coaching in groups or individual lessons, and even cardio tennis for fitness.
If competitive tennis appeals to you we enter the Driffield League with 3 men’s doubles teams, 4 Ladies teams and 4 mixed teams. We also have 2 men’s teams in the Yorkshire Doubles and York League. There is always something happening on and off court, with dedicated Club afternoons, social evenings, fun tournaments and fund raising events. You don’t have to be a member, we have pay and play facilities and the option to ‘try tennis’ on social sessions. So come along and say hello, everyone is welcome.
We also have some exciting news for the forthcoming year! We are pleased to announce that there will be floodlights available for the winter season on the 3 hardcourts so that we can enjoy more tennis throughout the winter months. After seeking planning permission and some much needed funding from the Robert B Massey trust we are delighted to be able to give the go ahead for this exciting project. We will look forward to updating you with progress, and of course our coaching programme will be extended with extra sessions for those dark winter evenings.
